PERU

Day 1.
Arrive in Lima, Peru: Welcome at Lima!
You and your group will be picked up from the airport and transferred to your hotel. You will have the afternoon free to rest and acclimatize. Before dinner, we will have an introduction and briefing about your Peruvian adventure.

Day 2.
Lima.
Discover Lima on a guided city tour! Peru’s capital is a rich kaleidoscope of colonial architectural jewels, revered pre-Columbian sites, charming residential areas, and vibrant shopping districts perched over the blue Pacific. Visit the Rafael Larco Herrera Museum and see the largest private collection of pre-Colombian Peruvian art in the world. Our tour continues to the city’s neighborhoods along the Pacific coast.

Day 3.
Lima – Cusco – Sacred Valley.
Take a morning flight to Cusco (not included) and then drive to the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We will check into the hotel and spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing from the day of travel. We will have an introduction to the Sacred Valley attractions later this evening.

Day 4.
Sacred Valley.
Visit 3 sites in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. First, the Maras Salt Mines, where you will see hundreds of stunning salt ponds from an accessible viewpoint. Then, a panoramic view of Moray, an Incan agricultural experimental center famous for its elliptical irrigation terraces. And finally, the fortress of Ollantaytambo, built by the Incas and where six huge rectangular monoliths form the Temple of the Sun.

Day 5.
Sacred Valley.
Decode the mysteries of Andean Iconography during a visit to the Amaru community. Members of the community will make us lunch before we depart for the colorful Pisac Market (mostly accessible.) We will also enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the Pisac Ruins.

Day 6.
Sacred Valley – Aguas Calientes – Sacred Valley.
Prepare to visit Machu Picchu! Take a train through the Sacred Valley of the Incas to the fabulous mountaintop ruins of Machu Picchu. For centuries, this lost city was buried in the jungle until Hiram Bingham discovered it in 1911. A private bus will transfer you to the top of the ruins where a guided tour will illuminate the mysteries of Machu Picchu.

Day 7.
Sacred Valley.
After yesterday’s adventure to Machu Picchu, today is a day of leisure and relaxation.

Day 8.
Sacred Valley – Cusco.
We’ll visit the labyrinthine ruins of Qenqo (“zigzag”) & Puca Pucara (Red Fortress). Enjoy a guided visit and picnic lunch nearby Sacsayhuaman (speckled falcon), the fortress above Cusco whose precise zigzags of massive stone remain unmoved after centuries.

Day 9.
Cusco.
Explore Cusco on a private city tour! The tour includes a visit to the Cathedral, considered the best repository of colonial art from the Cusco school. We’ll continue the circuit to Qoricancha (court of gold), also known as the “Temple of the Sun,” the religious and political center of Cusco during the Inca era.

Day 10.
Cusco.
Enjoy Cusco at your own pace with a day of leisure.

Day 11.
Cusco – Lima.
Transfer to the airport to board your flight to Lima (flight not included.) We can provide assistance to connect with your international flight.

• The Inka program is a tour that combines a bit of adventure, culture, nature, and leisure.
• It is an all-inclusive tour, meaning that all meals, transportation, accommodation, guide, and activities are included.
• Hotels through the PERU tour present a good level of accessibility. Some have grab bars and roll in showers, some have a small step (5 inches) to get into showers, but in general they adapt their facilities to host guests using wheelchairs.
• We can provide a regular van or bus with a portable ramp to access the vehicle. NO electric lift available at the moment.
• We provides bilingual certified guides for all activities throughout the tour.
• In PERU activities are not 100% accessible, therefore we provide the option to have an additional assistant (1 assistant per each person using a wheelchiar) specially for days like Machu Picchu. Please ask about additional assistant options and rates at time of booking.
